UK Anti-Trans org ‘Free Speech’ Union tries to suppress leaked donor list
Interim website of the anti-trans hate group.

A list of anti-transgender donors obtained by the Bash Back activist collective was deemed so damaging to the anti-transgender movement that the so-called Free Speech Union has paid cyber investigators piles of money to try to investigate.

The downloadable list, publicly avaliable online, but pulled from the Bash Back website, is a repository of names and amounts that the Bash Back activist collective described as "the name of every person who has donated to the FSU since 26 Jan 2024, along with the date, campaign, and amount given".

"Individuals who donated the most include according to Bash Back, include

  • Paul Cook: £25,000 (for the Hamit Coskun Fundraiser)
  • David Franks: £11,000 (to the FSU)
  • Craig Turner: £10,000 (for the Graham Linehan Fundraiser)
  • Alexander Gerko: £9,500 (for the Jamie Michael Crowdfunder)
  • Philip Chesterfield: £5,000 (to the FSU)" the Bash Back organisation wrote on its site.

“The Free Speech Union has always been an organisation for defending bigots. Instead of fighting for the free speech of pro-Palestine activists – such as the prisoners currently on hunger strike – they move heaven and earth to defend every sexist, racist, and transphobe that crosses their path." the press release from the Bash Back activist group says

“The FSU has said nothing about the police banning the use of common Arabic phrases, the abuse of activists in prison, or the censorship imposed on the public around Britain’s involvement in genocide. Instead, their focus is on defending those who preach hatred. The public deserves to know who is funding the FSU’s activities, and we are glad to be able to reveal it.” it continues.

While the Free Speech Union's funding is being laid bare, ironically by the free speech of the Bash Back activist collective, they are going to great pains to prevent this data from being accessible to the public.

The so-called FSU has released a statement on their website, "We’ve temporarily disabled our website following a cyber attack by a militant pro-trans organisation that openly boasts about breaking the law and encourages its supporters to steal hammers and take ‘direct action’ against members of parliament."
