My appreciation & the future

I've been overwhelmed by how much my writing has meant to a lot of people. I've had trans people I don't know come up to me and thank me for the work I've been doing here.
Together over the past 18 months, we've been able to as a community prevent Kellie Jay Keen from visiting Australia, expose Victoria Police's Human Rights Charade, hold transphobes within the Policing system to account and move an anti-trans comedy set out of their venue and into the shadows.
I did not do this on my own; your readership, sharing and action on these issues meant that we affected real change.
There's so much more work to do, a few weeks ago I was grabbed, shoved and threatened with arrest by Victoria Police officers for the crime of daring to be the only transgender journalist covering an anti-trans hate rally.
But I will never back down.
So, now it's time for the next step. Today, lucyfromnaarm.com moved away from Substack and to Ghost, a platform that I have far more control over. As a developer, I'm able to do so much more with this platform, think interactive stories, embedded data, live blogging, livestreaming and more.
I have some very, very big plans for Lucyfromnaarm.com in the future.
Among those plans, I want to pay more queer journalists to do more queer journalism.
I hate asking for money, especially when there is so much need out there right now, but: If you think this is a valuable goal and you can spare $3 or more a month, I'd love to have you as part of it.
I promise I will use every dollar wisely. Every $16 worth of memberships essentially means I can pay one queer journalist for their work every year.
As a bonus, it'll piss off all the right people.
Want to be a part of it?
Otherwise, keep reading, commenting and thanks for coming on this journey so far.
